Cake Stall Success

Seahaven Lionesses raised just over £40 from a table top cake stall held at the Meridian Morning Market in Peacehaven on Saturday 11th December.Although at some of the events we have attended this year have had a poor financial result, we feel it is very important for us to be seen buy the community, therefore these events are great PR opportunity to make the public aware of who we are and what we do.

Lionesses help Searchlight Workshops

Seahaven Lionesses were delighted to be able to donate £500 to Searchlight in Newhaven towards their “Bright Lights” appeal.  Robert Stevenson from Searchlight attended the Lionesses November meeting and outlined his plans to hopefully raise £1 million pounds to refurbish one of the three care homes they have.

Searchlight workshop is a charity that offers residential, day care and respite care centre for 42 residents both male and female, whose ages range from 28 to 82 years and who suffer with physical and/or learning disabilities.

Lionesses happy to help

Seahaven Lionesses donated a bubble mirror to six year old Ella Hibling from Seaford .

Ella was born with Group B Strep Meningitis which left her with brain damage. Ella is also severely visually impaired and suffers from epilepsy as well as being autistic.

Ella Mum Alix Collins said we are trying to make a sensory/play room at home for Ella and the bubble mirror kindly donated by the Lionesses, will not only be something for Ella to enjoy but it will also help stimulate her vision, so we are extremely grateful.

Maggie Chitty, President of the Lionesses 2010/2011 said “We were delighted to be able to buy this equipment for Ella, but it would not have been possible without the support received from the community at our numerous fundraising events. Every penny raised goes back into helping those less fortunate than us”.
